I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to go through a demo of a new web-based practice management app from Rocket Matter. It looks very promising, and now it has officially launched. If you’ve ever used Basecamp or similar Web 2.0 sorts of collaboration and management apps, you know that there are some real advantages to a well-implemented web app.

Rocket Matter has been working with solo and small firms over the past few months, and it looks very smooth, easy to use, and uncluttered. Take a look at Ben Stevens’ writeup for more info, or go to the Rocket Matter site to watch the preview video.

The legal profession isn’t often at the forefront with technology, but it looks like Rocket Matter could be a powerful took for solo and small firm practitioners who would rather spend their time on billable work than on managing invoices.
