Law School Apps and Leopard
As I mentioned earlier, Apple hasn’t sent the shipping version of Leopard to third-party developers yet. This means that although most of them have a pretty good idea of how their apps will work in Leopard, it’s difficult for some of them to be 100% sure. Will Leopard introduce small glitches here and there? Probably. Will it create major difficulties for the apps we know and love? I doubt it.
Here’s what I’ve heard back from the third-party Mac app developers I’ve contacted about Leopard compatibility:
DEVONnote and DEVONthink
“Yes, there are a few issues that we didn’t want to fix before the golden master of Leopard was available. Unfortunately, Apple decided to ship instead of proving us with a golden master and some weeks to fix issues. But, we are now working with the latest available beta to fix whatever issues we are aware of and we will deliver an update as quickly as possible.”
Quicksilver
It appears Quicksilver will work under Leopard. [via Mark Fisher]
TypeIt4Me
“Yes, TypeIt4Me 3.1.1 does work under Leopard. Make sure you check Enable access for assistive devices before you launch TypeIt4Me.” [via Mark]
WriteRoom
“… once Tiger [sic. Leopard] comes out my first task will be to fix up and issues that WriteRoom or TaskPaper has with it. I’m guessing it won’t be very long at all before it’s all working is it has any problems in the first place.” [via Mark]
Yep
“I don’t know of any Leopard/Yep issues–I’ve been running Yep in Leopard with no problems. We’re continuing to test Yep with every Leopard release, though we haven’t received the final version yet. Yep is due for an update soon any way so if any issues do pop up we’ll be able to get them sorted out right away.”
Yojimbo
“The current version of Yojimbo should work properly under Leopard, though we’ll be keeping an eye on things JIC.” [via Mark]
