Exam Software: Electronic Blue Book and Leopard
The folks who make Electronic Blue Book got back to me rapidly when I asked them these questions about Leopard:
1) Are you certifying EBB for use on Leopard?
Once we get a look at the final Leopard version we are going to make decision to move towards certification or not. As of right now we are planning to move forward. We are currently moving to have the PC version certified with Vista and would like to have our Mac version with Leopard right after the 1st of the year.
2) If not, do you think you’ll be able to certify it for use with Leopard in time for fall exams?
We would probably looking at completing the certification after Dec. or for spring exams. Of course unless we have no issues moving to Leopard. For the Fall semester we are going to alert any school using the Mac versions of issues or non-issues that could arise with the use of Leopard and EBB we find during our testing. Once we notified the schools we are going to let them decided, we will make a recommendation based on testing, if they should allow Leopard.
I’ll post answers from the other exam software vendors when I hear from them.
Again, note that all of the exam software vendors are in the same boat as other third-party developers; they’re receiving the final version of Leopard on October 26th, just like the rest of us.
