Camino 1.5 is Sweet
The other day the fine people of the Camino Project released version 1.5 of Camino. This is an excellent browser. It doesn’t have a laundry list of features, but the ones it does have are executed very well. In particular, I am very happy with the way Camino handles Tab Bundles. Grouping a set of tabs is intuitive and fast.
I just discovered this trick. If you already have a Tab Bundle (in this case “Spyware Bills”) and you aren’t using that bundle, it is easy to add new tabs to that bundle. When you come across a page you want to add to an existing bundle, just grab the title of the newly-found page from its tab to the icon for the existing Tab Bundle. Voila, it gets added to the bundle.

I also really like the way Camino now handles windows. I have Camino set to open any new windows in tabs, so I don’t get the clutter of browser windows everywhere.
Camino 1.5 is fast, free of bloat, and very polished. If you haven’t ever tried this free, Open Source browser, you may want to give it a spin. You can also see my February review of eight Mac web browsers for alternatives.
