Audio Notes

Jesse, a student at the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, passed this helpful tip my way:

I’ve been trying to find a good program to record class and haven’t found anything good (aka free). I recently discovered that Word 2004 (and possibly the 2008 version but I don’t know) make audio recordings. You just have create a notebook document and go to Tools -> Audio notes. After recording class, you can export it as an .mp4 file.

I sit near the front of class and tried it today. It turned out great!

There are a variety of methods to grab audio notes on a Mac. Several other favorite student apps besides Microsoft Word provide for audio note recording. Here are a few:
