I don’t know about you, but sometimes I tire of the comments. You know, the ones that start like this: “You have a Mac? Wow, you must be rich!” or “Gee. You’re a risk-taker. What happens if something goes wrong with that Mac of yours? Nobody will know how to fix it!” Stop me if you’ve heard this one: “Apple is gonna die any day now.” Admittedly, these sorts of comments don’t surface as often as they did in The Bad Old Days.
But when they do, it’s nice to know the Macalope is there, and he feels your pain. In fact, the Macalope not only feels your pain, he dishes it back at the haters. That’s right, the Macalope is an entity dedicated to tackling Apple hatred head-on. Part man, part Mac, part… antelope. This bizarre creature shreds his opponents with a clever mix of humor and logic.
He eviscerates a Wharton professor’s analysis:
Wharton marketing professor Peter Fader provides today’s object lesson in why an MBA may be a tremendous waste of your time.
Fader is asked his opinion of the iPhone, the AppleTV and Steve Jobs and manages to get just about everything wrong.
With the increasing popularity of the Mac, whether it’s from Apple’s “Get a Mac” ads or Microsoft’s own failings, there’s been a whole new cottage industry developing.
The Macalope is talking, of course, about the faux switcher.
He puts the smack down on veteran Apple analyst Rob Enderle:
In a snippet entitled “Apple’s Collapse” (scroll to the bottom), Rob Enderle shows that not only does he have trouble with comprehension — as we’ve long known — he’s also just a very slow reader. While he apparently hasn’t caught up with Thursday’s RSS feeds, he’s not letting that get in the way of stepping into the wrong side of a controversy.
Admittedly, reading The Macalope won’t help you find new OmniOutliner tricks, or teach you Criminal Procedure. But when you’re feeling feisty, it makes a great intermission from the grind.
