I received a note lat week indicating that Santa Clara Law (my alma mater) had put together a June 24th program for “job-seeking law graduates” seeking resume and interview assistance, financial planning advice, stress management tips, social networking insights, and ideas for “leveraging your legal background for new opportunities.”
The latter is the most interesting for me personally, as I decided about half way through law school that I didn’t want to practice law. Given that law firm hiring has dropped precipitously, many law students and recent grads are looking for options outside the law office. I’m curious how your school is handling this. Are administrators and employment counselors tackling this head on, or are you seeing a lot of vague hand-waving?
