Dallas Mavericks owner and tech zillionairre Mark Cuban is all about his MacBook, joining an increasingly long list of high-profile tech and business folks who’ve switched. Former Microsoftie Robert Scoble has “switched his life over” to a MacBook Pro. Marc Andreessen has switched (anyone one else here old enough to remember how earth-shattering Mosaic and Netscape Navigator were, back in the day?). Macs are even invading Microsoft conferences.

Macs aren’t for everyone, though. I have a classmate who loves to tease me about my Mac’s supposed expense, its lack of capabilities, and so on. When we were 1Ls, he had to replace his existing PC laptop because it was giving him too many problems. This spring he replaced his replacement with a spiffy new HP, which of course has better specs than my two-and-a-half year old PowerBook.

On Monday he showed up to class sans laptop. The video card got fried.

At least he’s not stuck with a Mac.
