Upcoming software review topics
I have been keeping an ongoing list of software I’d like to write about in MLS. I thought I’d share that list with you to see which (if any) of these topics readers would like to see. This is also an experiment designed to solicit comments, so please feel free to let me know which of these items you’d like to see in MLS. Of course, if there are topics not on this list (not limited to software reviews) that you’d like to see, tell me about ‘em. These are listed in rough order of current priority.
- Journler 2.0
- WriteRoom 2.0
- Yojimbo 1.4
- Basecamp
- Social bookmarking apps (del.icio.us, ma.gnolia, and Furl)
- Mindburn
- DevonThink Suite
- Comparison of major OS X browsers: Shiira, Safari, Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb, Flock, Opera, iCab (focusing on how they work with major web apps and with Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw)
- Comparison of notebook type apps like Notebook, NoteTaker, Mori, et. al.

Obviously the Journler review is now off the list. One less thing to think about, eh?

Hey Erik,
It’s not a software review but out of curiosity what’s your method of backing up your mac?

I’m actually pretty primative in my backup approach. Once every three months or so I back up my entire laptop hard drive to a LaCie external hard drive, replacing the existing backup copy. I try to burn DVDs of my user directory once a month, but as often as not I don’t.
I should get my act together, do some research, and write an article about it.
